Presenter Bio

Kate Griffiths is a member of the Bioanalysis Group at the Australian Government’s National Measurement Institute (NMI). The NMI works with Measurement Institutes around the world to ensure consistent measurement standards and capabilities are maintained for Australia, underpinning industry competitiveness and facilitating access to global supply chains.

Kate provides many roles within the Bioanalysis Group, including technical training, method development and consultancy work. More recently her focus has been on DNA reference material production.

The Bioanalysis Group has been offering DNA-based stockfeed testing for the presence of ruminant material for over eighteen years. Kate is currently developing a DNA method to measure the ratio of beef, pork, lamb and chicken in meat and bonemeal, co-funded by the ARA.
