Presenter Bio

Ian Baker is the CEO of both Biodiesel Industries Australia Pty Ltd and Australian Eco Oils Pty Ltd. Biodiesel Industries Australia is an Australian owned company specialising in the manufacture of biodiesel from used cooking oils and tallow. Located in Maitland NSW, BIA has been in operation since 2003 with capacity to produce 20 million litres per annum. Australian Eco Oils is an Australian owned used cooking oil recycling business. Trading as Scanline, it has operations in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne processing some 15,000 tonnes of UCO for supply to the local animal feed and biodiesel markets.

Ian graduated from Hawkesbury Agricultural College in 1988 with a degree in Applied Science (Agriculture) and began his career with Cargill as an oilseed merchant based in Brisbane and then Narrabri in 1989. Ian spent the next 23 years in various trading and management roles in Cargill’s grains, oilseeds, flour and refined vegetable oils businesses in both Australia and the USA.
